Robbers stab policewoman to death


A police woman serving at the Ikeja police command, Ms. Fati Yakubu, otherwise known as Dorcas, who was on a visit to her friend, has been murdered in Damaturu, Yobe State.

A police woman serving at the Ikeja police command, Ms. Fati Yakubu, otherwise known as Dorcas, who was on a visit to her friend, has been murdered in Damaturu, Yobe State.

Her host and childhood friend, Mrs. Fati Adamu, was also stabbed six times but she miraculously survived the attack.

Shocked Yobe state police commissioner has ordered for an investigation to unravel the circumstances surrounding her death.
The victim, who hailed from Mangu, in Plateau State was in Damaturu to condole with her friend, Mrs. Adamu on the death of her husband, Ciroma Adamu who died about four months ago.

Mrs Adamu, her two children and guest were said to have gone to bed in Legislative' quarters, along Gujba Road in Damaturu when bandit attacked them about 2am.

The bandits were said to have broken into the room, demanding money. They were said to have lost their patience when the widow failed to give them money. She was said to have begged the robbers who threatened to smash the head of her two months old baby. Later the hoodlums stabbed her.
The Late police woman was equally stabbed and she bled to death.

The Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) of the command, Bulama Hussein, an Assistant Superintenden of Police (ASP), described the incident as unfortunate and barbaric.
He said the police would do their best to track down the criminals, while expressing regret over the death of the police constable.
