A few days after the chairman of Globacom and business mogul, Otunba Mike Adenuga, returned to the country, his company says that the Metropolitan Police never searched his London office.

According to Mr. Bode Opeseitan, Head, Public Relations, Globacom, in a press statement, the Metropolitan Police had no cause to search Adenuga's London office since he has always conducted his business 'above board."

The statement said that Adenuga returned to the country voluntarily owing to his passion for Nigeria.

The statement reads: 'Our attention has been drawn to the story on Page 8 of Punch Newspaper of December 5, 2007 entitled ‘Why Adenuga returned to Nigeria.'

'We wish to state, with all emphasis at our disposal, that there was no iota of truth in the story that the British Police searched the London office of our Chairman, Dr Mike Adenuga Jr.
'Contrary to the publication, the British Police did not at anytime search the London office of our Chairman nor question him.

'Our Chairman is an international businessman of repute and a law abiding citizen of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, who has been conducting his businesses across the world above board, providing direct and indirect employment for tens of thousands of Nigerians and other citizens of the world.
'We also wish to state categorically that the return of our chairman to the country was voluntary and inspired by his patriotic zeal and passion for his country.

'Well meaning Nigerians, who valued our chairman's contributions to the development of the country, also actively encouraged him to return home.
'We wish to thank all well meaning Nigerians for their prayers and goodwill messages."
