Another tragedy has struck the family of the heroic policeman, Sgt Cletus Emejor, killed by armed robbers in the Apapa area of Lagos, as his widow slumped and died over the weekend, when the husband was being buried.
Mrs Augustina Emejor had been sick and the news of her husband's death had been kept a closely guided secret until it was time to bury the slain cop last Saturday.
Daily Sun learnt that the widow fainted as soon as the news was finally broken, that armed robbers shot and killed her husband.
Efforts were made to revive her, until the next day when she was confirmed dead.
The dead couple left five children, who fear they could be thrown out of the barracks anytime from now.
The woman's first child, 24-year-old Tochukwu, had told Daily Sun in an interview earlier published that the family couldn't tell his mum about his father's death for fear that the news could worsen her condition.
Tochukwu, who revealed that his mother was suffering from what doctors called Cellulites, said immediately the family received the news, she was taken away from Ogbaru in Anambra State, to Asaba, in Delta State.
The police are still holding two of the suspected armed robbers, who killed the award-winning Sgt Emejor and another brave cop, Inspector Nwosu Akpagbue on November 8, at the Coconut area of Olodi-Apapa.
