Former governor of Abia State and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Progressive Peoples Alliance (PPA), Chief (Dr.) Orji Uzor Kalu has appointed Mr. Emeka Omeihe as his media adviser.
Former governor of Abia State and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Progressive Peoples Alliance (PPA), Chief (Dr.) Orji Uzor Kalu has appointed Mr. Emeka Omeihe as his media adviser.
In his new capacity, Mr. Omeihe will function as chief spokesman to Chief Kalu. Mr. Omeihe, who has since resumed work, has put in more than 25 years in active journalism practice. He was before his appointment, the executive assistant on Public Affairs to the immediate past governor of Imo State, Chief Achike Udenwa. He had worked variously in several newspapers including, the Statesman and Champion
Newspapers Ltd. At Champion, he worked variously as pioneer Political Editor, Editor Daily, Chairman of the Editorial Board, General Manager Publications and Executive Director. He also worked briefly with the Concord Monitor Newspapers in New Hampshire, U.S.A.
A three time member of the Standing Committee of the Nigerian Guild of Editors, Mr. Omeihe has Bachelors and Masters Degrees in Political Science from the Universities of Ibadan and Lagos respectively. The new media adviser also holds a certificate in journalism from Thompson Foundation, London and has attended many management courses and also in political journalism
