The Managing Director of a Lagos-based company, Broda Trust Nig. Ltd, Apapa, Mr. Adedoja Aroloye, on Wednesday told an Ikeja High Court presided over by Justice Joseph Oyewole, how some people who purported to be spiritualists defrauded him of N8, 683, 000.

Aroloye disclosed this while facing cross-examination before the court in a case the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission had brought against four accused persons, Kayode Awolumate, Sunday Omotayo, Joke Adamolekun (the alleged leader of the witches) and Ibrahim Adebisi.
These four persons, arrested in January 29 and 31, 2007 are facing a six-count charge comprising conspiracy to obtain money by false pretences and obtaining the sum of N8, 683,000 by false pretences before Oyewole.
In his evidence, the 48- year-old MD stated that two of the accused, Awolumate and Omotayo, who used to be his drivers, colluded with two other accused persons and others still at large to defraud him of the stated sum.
He added that Awolumate and Omotayo brought a person they introduced to him as their biological father in January 2007.
The man, whom he later identified as Adebayo Adamolekun, alias Gadaffi, thanked him for taking care of his sons and promised to reciprocate this good gesture by giving him some surprise package.
