Renaissance Group has named former Minister of Finance, Dr Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, chairman of its African and Nigerian advisory boards.

The boards will help Renaissance formulate its growth strategy for Africa and boost its image on the continent, the Chief Executive of Renaissance Group, African unit, Mr. Neil Harvey, was quoted to have said in a Bloomberg News report on Tuesday.

Okonjo-Iweala, who was Nigerias Finance Minister for three years until June last year, is a fellow at the Brookings Institution in Washington, a member of the Clinton Global Initiative and the Nelson Mandela Institute.

She headed the economic team under former President Olusegun Obasanjos administration and was credited with leading the efforts that resulted in Nigerias exit from the Paris Club debts.

Before her appointment as minister, she worked with the World Bank as a vice-president.

Other advisory board members include the former Ghana Finance Minister, Kwesi Botchway; a former associate administrator of the United Nations Development Programme and former Minister of Economy, Finance and Planning in Burkina Faso, Zephirin Diabre.
