A murder suspect, Alhaji Uba Abdullahi, has confessed that he killed a lady, Miss Mary Danladi, because she refused him sex.
A murder suspect, Alhaji Uba Abdullahi, has confessed that he killed a lady, Miss Mary Danladi, because she refused him sex.
The suspect told police officers, including the acting Inspector-General of Police, Mr. Mike Okiro, that he picked up the girl last week Wednesday, and that both of them had agreed to make love for N1,500.
Abdullahi said he was surprised when they got to the bush where they ought to have fun and the lady suddenly changed the price to N2,000, on the excuse that the weather was cold and would need to spend some money to buy drugs after the sex.
He said, 'We had agreed that I was going to pay N1,000, but when we got to the bush, she said I should pay N1,500 and I agreed. After I undressed, she changed the price again and I disagreed.
'When I asked that she should give my money back to me, she refused. I was mad and this led to a scuffle between us. I later brought out my daga (knife) and cut her throat."
Abdullahi said he dumped the body of the lady inside the bush. But on his way, he was accosted by riot policemen who noticed blood stains on his clothes.
The suspect claimed that he told the policemen that his cloth was soaked by zobo drink and not blood. The policemen did not, however, believe his explanations.
According to him, 'They said there was no way zobo could be as red as the stains on my cloth and when they searched my car, they noticed that there were blood stains all over the seats."
Speaking on the matter, Okiro said the attention of policemen, who were on patrol was drawn to a parked Station Wagon, with registration number AG 847 SUL, and that when they attempted to see what happened to the vehicle, the occupant attempted to escape.
'The patrol team chased the car and apprehended him. On searching the car, they discovered blood stains all over the car which he claimed to be zobo drink," he said.
Okiro said the suspect tried to bribe the detectives with N60,000 before he was forced to take them to the bush where the body of the victim was dumped.
