Miffed by the spate of criticism targetted at its young administration, Governor Babatunde Fashola (SAN) on Wednesday lambasted his critics asking them to come out with viable alternatives to his Government's plans for Lagosians instead of inciting the people against him.

Miffed by the spate of criticism targetted at its young administration, Governor Babatunde Fashola (SAN) on Wednesday lambasted his critics asking them to come out with viable alternatives to his Government's plans for Lagosians instead of inciting the people against him.

Governor Fashola, who spoke at Kosofe Local Government Area in continuation of his working tour of all local government areas in the state, added that the spineless critics of his administration had the ample opportunity of presenting their programmes to Lagosians during the last elections, but had nothing to offer.

He told Lagosians not to listen to the inciting remarks of the failed politicians who have been telling the people not to pay tax, saying taxation remains the only vehicle to development of the society.
He said the period of politics is over and that his government is poised to provide succor millions of Lagosians who empowered him with their votes.

He told the community leaders and opinion leaders who had gathered at the council secretariat that the state government would collate all the list of roads that he has inspected and needed government attention to be included in Year 2008 budget

Governor Fashola also said that the executive council was going to review all identified problem areas with specific assignments to be given out.
He added that all such roads would be rehabilitated under the state government intervention policy in local governments.

At the Comprehensive Senior Secondary School at Alapere he directed the immediate pulling down of the school structure which had collapsed and the immediate commencement of work on the rebuilding.
At Agboyi Ketu where he commissioned a jetty, he promised to ensure the construction of a bridge over the river in the area to enable the people move there vehicles freely.
