The suspect, Pascal Eze, Daily Sun learnt, was arrested at the Export Cargo Section of NAHCo, while trying to smuggle the hard drug abroad.
The Commander of the NDLEA, (MMIA), Mr Victor Cole-Showers, who confirmed the arrest to Daily Sun by phone, said the man, who also doubles as a trader, was being questioned in the office with a view to extracting useful information that will lead to tracking down the baron and other agents behind the courier.
While lamenting the alarming increase of drug traficking, Cole-Showers said the command will remain vigilant and relentless in the fight against drug trafficking, warning potential culprits to desist from the destructive trade.
Only four days ago, the command arrested three traffickers at the Lagos Airport.
Two of them, Messers Ahukanna Chukwuka Daniel and Ike Prince Chris, ingested the cocaine, while Nwaugo Magnus Emeka concealed his in his luggage for onward transfer to Israel.
Daniel, 32, was on his way to Italy via Alitalia Airline, while Chris was on his way to Germany via KLM. Three of them are now at the detention camp of the NDLEA at the NAHCo area of the airport.
Cole-Showers further told Daily Sun that the command is on the trail one Lagos socialite, Toyin Igbira over the arrest of Mohammed Jamiu few weeks ago for ingesting cocaine allegedly given to him by Igbira to export to London.
On how the drug war can be effectively won, he said the command needs more sniffer dogs, itemizers and a comprehensive national database for effective sourcing of required crime information.
He said the sniffer dogs at the airport are three, stressing that more dogs should be brought to combat drug traficking more effectively.
He also said the absence of a national crime database and lack of direct access to information database of other security agencies has also hampered the fight against drugs.
