A 32-year-old Nigerian man was arrested in Berea on Tuesday for dealing in drugs, Johannesburg police said.
Captain Bheki Mavundla said police received information about the man after an earlier arrest in Pretoria.
"Police gained access to his apartment by breaking down the door, since it was locked. Once they got inside, the found the man, and began searching his house."
Police found rock cocaine and heroin to the street value of R30 000. They also confiscated an amount of R17 000 in cash.
The man was detained at the Hillbrow police station and was charged for drug dealing, Mavundla said.
He will appear in the Johannesburg magistrate's court on Wednesday. - Sapa
