Television viewers across the continent are, once again, set for another exciting moment as Nigeria's premier reality TV show, Gulder Ultimate Search, hit the airwaves on Monday.
Organized by the Nigerian Breweries Plc, the fourth edition of the show had suffered a two-week suspension following the death of one of the contestants, Anthony Mudiaga.
The first episode, aired on Monday, prepared the viewers' minds for the unexpected in the weeks ahead.
Right from its opening shots, the narrator, ace broadcaster, Femi Sowolu, took viewers on a virtual tour of the scenic view of Shere Hills in Jos, Plateau State where, according to him, "Legend says time is lost…"
"This is Gulder Ultimate Search 4!," the narrator's barritone voice had boomed, signalling the commencement of the new edition of the reality TV show.
For the audiences, the show has begun, but for contestants this is beyond a game and adventure. It's a search for life-changing treasure with the ultimate aim to unlock the proverbial "Golden Age".
As a foretaste of what's to come, episode one begins with a tightly edited montage, showing a recap of highlights of previous editions of Gulder Ultimate Search, the highs and the lows, the celebration and lamentations. Audiences had another opportunity of seeing their heroes of the previous editions again.
The episode also includes footages from the rigorous selection process leading to the selection of the nine contestants who will slug it out on the cold hills of Shere Hills in the succeeding weeks as audiences wait to behold the ultimate man or woman who will covet the top prize.
