Ex- President Olusegun Obasanjo on Sunday in Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital said the planned redenomination of the naira by the Central Bank of Nigeria was not an important thing to him.
Obasanjo fielded questions from journalsits who had laid siege to the Egba High School, Abeokuta, where was he was to write his last paper in the National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN) semester examination.
On his arrival at the examination centre at 12:30 pm, on sighting journalists, Obasanjo said, 'You these people, you are here again."
Asked to comment on the new Naira policy announced by the CBN Governor, Prof. Charles Soludo, last Tuesday, the former President said, 'That is not Theology. My concern now is Theology."
Obasanjo, who arrived the examination centre in a convoy of cars, answered questions on NOUN and his course at the university only but refused to answer questions on national issues.
The former president also restated his support for the open university system.
According to him, 'the open university is one of the best ways of giving opportunities to those who want to acquire university education, but are too busy."
