‘Kalu's PPA, a blessing to Igbo race'

The former governor of Abia State and presidential standard-bearer of Peoples Progressive Alliance (PPA), Dr. Orji Uzor Kalu has received kudos for using the party to give the Igbo race a say in the nation's current political dispensation.

The former governor of Abia State and presidential standard-bearer of Peoples Progressive Alliance (PPA), Dr. Orji Uzor Kalu has received kudos for using the party to give the Igbo race a say in the nation's current political dispensation.

The Enugu State chairman of the party, Chief Celestine Okafor, in a chat with Sunday Sun in Enugu after the state working Committee meeting, said the victory of the party in the two South-Eastern states of Abia and Imo was the best thing that had happened to the Igbo nation and that it was as a result of the party's presidential candidate, that PPA made all the impact in the nation's political arena.

He expressed confidence that 'by the time the electoral tribunals across the country round off their proceedings, the party will capture more states not only in the South-East but across the country."

Okafor commended the laudable and lofty programmes of Governors Theodore Orji of Abia State and Ikedi Ohakim of Imo State, describing them as people oriented.
The party chairman, however, debunked the notion in some quarters that the party in Enugu State had gone underground, stressing that PPA was still very much intact even as it is at the tribunal challenging ' the electoral fraud committed in the state".

He expressed confidence in the tribunal, noting that at the end of the day, the tribunal would deliver judgment that would be fair to all.
Okafor called on members and supporters of 'the party that gave Igboman identity", to continue to show unflinching loyalty to the party.
