The bid of a University student who forgot her bread in a farm in Ekiti State and decided to go and retrieve it ended in misadventure weekend as she was raped and strangled .
Toyin Onigiobi , a final year student of Moshood Abiola University, Abeokuta ,went to a farm in their village ,Igbara-Odo in company with her mother, Mrs. Onigiobi , when the incident occurred.
The deceased's mother allegedly saw a familiar commercial motorcycle operator and urged him to carry her daughter back to the farm so that she would get the loaf . But her mum waited in vain for hours for the cyclist to return.
Unfortunately when the man returned, he was said to have developed cold feet as he could no explain the whereabouts of Toyin, prompting the mum to scream for help.
Her scream instantly attracted neighbours who forced the cyclists to a spot where the lifeless body of Toyin lay.
The cyclist reportedly told the police of how the student was raped and strangled by certain men.
State Police Public Relations Officer ,Celestine Gabriel ,an Assistant Superintendent of Police , confirmed the incident.
Gabriel said that the cyclist had been arrested by the police and was providing useful information on the matter .
