Gunmen abduct another 3-year-old in Rivers

Barely five days after a three-year-old British girl abducted by militants regained freedom, a three-year-old son of a traditional ruler in Rivers State was on Thursday morning seized by gunmen.

The boy, Master Samuel Amadi, is the child of the royal father of Iriebe community, on the outskirts of Port Harcourt, Eze Francis Amadi.

Little Samuel was snatched by the gunmen while being conveyed to his school, Princess International School, Port Harcourt.

So far, no group has claimed responsibility for the abduction and the whereabouts of both the child and his captors remained unknown as at press time.
Spokesperson of the Rivers State Police Command, Ireju Barasua, confirmed the incident.

About three weeks ago, a three-and-half-year-old son of Hon. Lynda Somiari-Stewart, a female member of the Rivers House of Assembly, was abducted. The boy, Master Michael Stewart, who was kidnapped near his school, was released two days later.
So far, no fewer than four children have been abducted in the state in recent times.
