A statement issued by the Secretary of the state chapter of the PDP, Mr. Yinka Adeojo, on Monday warned that anyone. who regarded Osun State's interest as secondary to that of another state should not be allowed to continue to threaten the peace of the state.
The party added that Mr. Rauf Aregbesola's recent statement that Osun is a satellite of Lagos State was better understood in the context of his tenuous link with Osun in all ramifications and the fact that he had been given back his works commissionership portfolio in Lagos to cushion his loss in Osun.
'Mr. Aregbesola knows that his rejection by Osun State people is final and he is now falling back on his Plan B which is scheming his way back into the Lagos State cabinet. If you look at the composition of the new Lagos State cabinet, you will realize that there is no Works Commissioner in Lagos yet.
That post is reserved for Rauf Aregbesola, who finds it difficult to tell his supporters in Osun that his ambition has reached a dead end," the PDP said.
Apart from securing his place in the cabinet, the PDP added that Aregbesola had also planted one of his Lagos boys in an important ministry as commissioner, 'thus securing his own future at least for the next four years."
The PDP commiserated with victims of the April 15 mayhem whose property were allegedly burnt by AC thugs and had been calling for justice in the media, saying that the PDP would always identify with their plight.
It assured the victims of the support of the PDP while it promised that the Oyinlola government would not forget them in their hour of need.
'These innocent people will not suffer in vain. Justice will prevail in this matter. It is sad that the sponsors of the mayhem ran back to their base in Lagos to lobby for appointments after setting our state on fire.
' We, however, know that no sinner will go unpunished. But there is a great lesson to learn from the April experience. No alien should be allowed to buy a place in our political landscape again in this state. We should have learnt that the destiny of our state is not in the hands of any Lagos boy with bullion vans of money," the PDP said.
