President Umaru Musa Yar'Adua has approved the appointment of Mr. Mike Mbama Okiro as Acting Inspector-General of Police.
President Umaru Musa Yar'Adua has approved the appointment of Mr. Mike Mbama Okiro as Acting Inspector-General of Police.
Before the announcement, the Deputy Inspector-General of Police, Mr Ogbonnaya Onovo, was designated the Acting Inspector-General of Police, being the most senior officer at the Force Headquarters.
Mr. Sunday Ehindero, who retired from service and was pulled out yesterday had on Thursday handed over to Mr Onovo.
A statement from the office of the Senior Special Assistant to the President (Media) and signed by the Deputy Director, Information, Mr Musa Adwak, said that the appointment of Mr Okiro took effect from yesterday.
