Just like many curious Nigerians, actor Kunle Afod has cried out over the sudden death of actress Folake Aremu aka Orisabunmi and two of her siblings.

Three days after the death of popular Yoruba actress, Mrs Folake Aremu, widely known as Orisabunmi, her younger sister Mrs Janet Ademola, has reportedly passed on.

News of the demise of Ademola, the last child of the family, was broken on Saturday by Gbenga Onisola, her nephew.

It will be recalled that Orisabunmi’s brother, Steve Onisola, had died on Thursday, barely 24hours after the death of the popular actress.

It was gathered, Mrs Ademola’s death comes just one day after she granted an interview to newsmen where she described her elder sister (the actress) as her best friend, a caring sister and a mother with a rare heart of love.

“The death of my elder sister, Mrs Folake Aremu, is very painful because of what she stood for in our lives as family members. She was very friendly and caring; she never left her siblings untended. We are pained because she stood in as a good mother for all of us and was a great actress.

“As the last child of the family, she took very good care of me. We were very close and used to each other. She gave her best to ensure that I was well catered for. She was a selfless fellow. She was very humane and she persevered a lot. She would not underrate anyone,”

Reacting, Kunle Afod posted a photo of the deceased on Instagram with the caption “Orisabunmi, Her brother and sister died under 72 hours…What can we call this ? Lord pls have mercy on us”

Born on October 10, 1960 in Kwara State, Orisabunmi became popular for her role in the 80s TV series Arelu starring her husband and others like Ojo Arowosafe, popularly known as Fadeyi Oloro.

Jimoh and Folake Aliu had a rocky marriage and were separated for two decades before Aworo died in September 2020.

Although they were no longer and wife, they continued working together as professionals and friends.

She attended his 85th birthday celebration in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital on December 19, 2019.

Speaking in an interview with PUNCH shortly after Aworo’s death, Orisabunmi said: He was a good man; he was a father to me, not a husband. “He was my mentor. After God, he was responsible for my progress.

“I pray to the Lord to accept him. May his good works never be wasted!”
