A container load of card reader went up in flames on Tuesday at 2.30pm  at the Secretariat of the Independent National Electoral Commission in Awka, Anambra State.

Staff of the Commission fled their offices.

This came days after a similar fire incident in Plateau.

Firefighters battled to put off the Awka fire.

Security operatives, including army and police thronged the Secretariat to assist.

However, no INEC official was ready to talk to the press.
