Woke up , had their morning prayers and bidded their friends good bye, I’ll see you later today” but never made it back ………a tragic ending. I thought I was going to be happy today the 7th day of June when I ran to a near by African store to get a calling card to call abroad and to wish my mother a HAPPY BIRTHDAY. As I  rushed to the store I remembered that  I‘ve not had my lunch , so I had to stop at a  nearby fast food restaurant to get something to eat, while talking to  my mother…and to jokingly share my meal with her via phone…as the discussion went on I asked about my beloved country Nigeria, in which I spent my entire life in.  I was concerned about the economy, the unemployment as well as the insecurity situation back home in which my fellow friends , family and well wishers go through everyday. I was concerned also about the political situation, intra party dispute among politician seeking every means within his or her reach to gain power at the expense of every meaningful Nigerian as if it’s a “Do or Die affair….all  my mother said was God knows best for our country, we should all pray hard and God would bless our country more abundantly soon.

We went on discussing. She asked if I heard what happened in Port Harcourt?  I said it was a sad news because I follow Nigerian news online, there I read of the barbaric way armed robbers brutally murdered two people (both names were withheld) but she gave me a shocker…one of the person that was murdered (a seminarian and a family friend) was my mentor back in my high school (federal government college, Ilorin) his name was Vincent, only about last month he sent me an e mail, telling me he was doing fine and he had few years left to be a priest, he prayed and wish me well….that was the last I would ever hear  of him….i would never forgive myself for not replying  his  email back I now know that time waits for no one I was banking on time to reply but now I have seen the repercussions  of what I did. When my mum told me I lost ma appetite to eat, I told her she was lying it cant be true, forgetting that we are all human and one day we are going to die. What warranted those bandits to commit such a hideous crime? And think they would go free? Why should they harm a person who wishes every body well? Defenseless, above all a clergyman? Over money that they sole and money that’s not theirs. This money that would perish some day, money that when they spend it they would never be happy, why all this crime?? Remember this saying’ touch not thy anointed’…they have played with fire.

When I think about this act happening in my country I tend to direct my question to the government? The armed forces and the entire citizen as a whole… we’ve heard of crimes her and their but the government is not ready to help this situation.

This is what I have to say I don’t care if YOU the government listen or not but for the future of our kids and unborn kids, I say the government should make SECURITY a priority it should be premus inter pair’ first among equal because you never know who’s turn it might be tomorrow, maybe you or your child would be killed by this men of the under world.
The government should put in place a strong security force, special forces as well as civilian clothed officers to check mate this malicious act of desperadoism. Where there is no security how would a society function well? How would u lure foreigners to come invest in your country? How would u tell your fellow patriotic Nigerians in aboard to come back home and develop their country? When all we see on the news here is death, insecurity, shabby economy and above all corruption? How would the economy grow when all this instrument of progress are not in the right place? How? Please I want to know??? I love my country, I want to come back someday and help my country grow I want to be buried in my country, I want to be free to move about anytime, any day and any where in my country  with out having this feeling of fear of the unknown. I must not be in a siren before I know I would be safe neither must I be among heavily armed men before I believe I would be safe …the only thing I need is freedom to be safe. The government should also regulate the distribution of fire arms, and every weapon given to the forces should be accounted for at the end of their duty, I strongly believe that some unfaithful men in uniform collaborates with this bandits in exchange for fire arms. A role call must be made everyday on weapons, guns, explosive and bullets should be accounted for and any officers who are short off this requirement should be taking for further questioning. This I believe would help safe lives and properties. Another question is that of unemployment handicapeed, graduates or even craftsmen should be gainfully employed, jobs should be stretched out across the nation in order to avoid youth from been jobless and seek VIOLENCE to justify their needs for Have. When people are employed indiscriminately the society would be good their by discouraging armed bandits .a theory sees this as when the number of unemployed are in the rise and when they have nothing to keep them moving the seek alternatively which is catastrophic. In essence the government have a huge and supportive role to see that it’s citizen are gainfully employed on the basis of merit rather than the syndrome of “WHO U SABI” (KNOW) every body should be equal thus removing the possibility of “LONGER Throat”(envy). Corruption which has been another tackling question should also be eliminated any one found guilty of gross misconduct should be dealt with and the judiciary should preside on his or her fate .we should also learn too say no to corruption there by our young once would be a virgin of know no corruption. The citizen of the country also have a role to play in discouraging criminals in the society, if anyone is found suspicious in your area/locality the good citizen to should try as much as possible to communicate with the honorable men in uniform and give vital information. Fear must not be a part of us; we must not have a nonchalant attitude in another word I DON’T CARE attitude. So we should all help in giving meaningful information about strange happening in our area. To you the armed robbers, theirs a saying “everyday for the thief one day for the owner” that day would surely come and I would surely laugh best when that day come you’ll never go free .you may think you might have had your way but you are just been FOLISH. I want the government to take actions on criminal that have committed heinous crime most especially murder, not to be speared but given the ultimate silence death because they have blood in their hands and their cup is full.  Finally to you my dear friend and motivator Vincent I say ADIEU may your murderers know no peace in their lives, God has a definite answer to your untimely death…may their sins be with them (killers) and there generation because they have blood on their hands. I know some day we shat meet to path no more …no amount of tears that runs down from my eyes would bring you back to your love once…. your case of death is just one among many others but the issues of insecurity must be said and something must be done before we all crumble. I pray that God would give your family and friends the strength to bear the lost.  A Word Is Enough For The Wise………………..
