I am so surprise when the when the president said the subsidies on fuel will help to raise 1.2tr Naira and this money will be spent on facilities which will benefit the Poor. My question to the president are as follows 1) Will it not be fair on the poor to raise this money by reducing the salaries of senators in nigeria because from my research, nigerian sectors are one of the highest paid in the world. A U.S senator earns 174,000dollar which is about 28m Naira per year.2) History have taught Nigerians never to believe in their government. since it is all about making rules and regulation to make money for themselves and their friends.3)Do we really have knowledgeable people in government.Should we be talking of removal of subsidies from fuel in todays Nigeria after 10 years. Has the subsidies improve the life of Nigerians likewise the removal will make the life of Nigerians even worst . A very Good example are the BRIC economy, to create a middle class family they have learnt to do away with the removal of subsidies on item that will have direct impact on consumption.4) Why do countries like U.S , CANADA, JAPAN, SOUTH KOREA AND CHINA still have subsidies. Is it not to help local industries to be more competitive and develop .What has been the impact of fuel subsidies in Nigeria for 10years.There are lots of questions to be asked. The Nigerian Government have got alot to prove to the People. If subsidies on fuel did not destroy the country in the last 10years, what makes the president feels it will do now. Mr President beware.
