THE NIGERIA OF MYDREAMS (PART 1).

‘Arise Ocompatriots’ these are the first words of our national anthem, chorale ornational hymn, this is  supposed to be aclarion call on all citizens of our great nation to be patriotic and to imbibe thespirit of brotherliness and also to build a great nation despite our socio-cultural,ethnic and religious diversity. It is also an official national song honoring the spirit ofour native land. Some anthems specifically celebrate a historical personage orevent; others exalt the beauty of the country. A number of anthems are simplymelodies without words, often no more than brief fanfares.

Ever since I was aboy I have always craved and dreamed of a nation with possibilities. How couldwe the sons of the land grovel for?

Ø  Basic health care facilities amidst thebillions of naira budgeted yearly by the Federal Government under the auspicesof annual budget. Why?

Ø  Access to basic life amenities andconveniences, what we call luxury in this country is considered necessity inother lands across the globe. Why?

Ø  Employment. Why is our teeming youthsroaming the streets daily all in search of employments all to no avail, as aresult indulging in some unwholesome activities like hostage taking, armrobbing, terrorism, hooliganism, cyber crimes and a host of others yet  our government are turning away their necks fromour plights like they never cared. Why?

Ø  Good governance which is supposed to beour right as a democratic nation. Why?

Ø  Security amidst the presence of theNigeria police, Civil defense corps and other security agencies nationwide, itis no news we now sleep with an eye open, businesses are not on the safe side, lives and properties of citizens are always on jeopardy and peril. Why?

Ø   Infrastructural development amidst the massivewealth, human and natural resources that abound. Why?

Ø  Power supply which is supposed to bethe bedrock for economic growth has turned treasure to Nigerians, the usage ofgenerating set has turned luxury for us all (I beta pass my neighbor) and assuch harnessing the emission of toxic waste into the atmosphere which in turnpromotes global warming

causinga deplorable health hazard to mankind, the big question is where are thebillions budgeted yearly to boost power supply? Why?

I believe Nigeria hasfailed as a nation our leaders has failed us and are still failing us, democracyhas turned a thorn on the flesh of all Nigerians, where are we heading and whomis piloting the affairs of this country is a big question I still can’t answer.

Why should ourelectoral bodies be controlled by our incumbent leaders? Why?

Why should corpers betreated as refugees all because they are serving their motherland?

THE NIGERIA OF MYANTICIPATION.

The Nigeria I havealways dreamed and craved for is a Nigeria where:

Ø There will be aproper health care delivery system, where all Nigerians will have access toproper health care services in spite of their religious, cultural and ethnicaffiliation, with no form of discrimination, prejudice, inequity, bigotry, intolerance and unfairness.

Ø Access to basic lifeamenities would be free and within reach and wholly regarded as a necessity notluxury.

Ø All youths despitetheir gender, age and other social affiliation will be gainfully employed witha balanced salary structure.

Ø A government thatwill portray the essence of true democracy, a government of the people, by thepeople and for the people, a government poised to serve and not to be served.

Ø Thesecurity of lives and property will be the watchword for all security outfitsnationwide.  A nation where terrorism, hostage taking, militancy and others will be reduced to its minimal.

Ø A nationthat can easily be mistaken for Great Britain and the United States of Americabecause of its endowment in infrastructural development.

Ø Powersupply would turn part of our daily lives as Nigerians

Ø Ouryouths will be treated with core values.

Ø Educationis free for all and sundry.

Ø Religiousand ethnic violence will be a thing of the past.

I aint no Martin Luther King or a philosopher, but I am beinginspired by positivity and sanguinity. I’m been propelled by a driven forcethat sometimes I have no answers to, maybe it is due to my unprecedented lovefor my nation. One thing is sure and that is the fact that the problem withNigeria today is our orientation. We need to change our general mindset andalignments. The problem and solution of Nigeria never lies in political partiesit is our individualities and personalities.

See you there!
