Prince TonyePrincewill the leader of Princewill Political Associates (PPA), a politicalpressure group that supports his brand of politics; devoid of acrimony, tribalism among other evils associated with undemocratic values has urged theKalabari people of voting age to come out en masse to register in the on goingvoter registration and to vote overwhelmingly for Governor Amaechi at thecoming general elections slated for April 2011

Prince Tonye made thecall during a courtesy visit to his father, King Prof T.J.T Princewill theAmanyanabo of the Kalabari Kingdom who is also theChairman of Rivers State Council of Traditional Rulers.

The leader of PPA, whoregistered at the Polling Unit stationed in the Palace of the Kalabari Kingdom, thanked the King for receiving him and his entourage at a very short notice.

He noted that hisfather was the first Professor to be anointed a King in Rivers State, the first Kalabari King to head the Rivers State Traditional Council of Chiefsand further reiterated that whatever he is today could not have been possiblewithout the King.

According to him,‘Iowe all that I am today to this great and unassuming man who saw the wisdomthat I should have the best of education as my foundation”.

Explaining further hesaid, “His Majesty, I am here today notnecessarily as your son but as a politician with an unflinching desire to makea difference in the politics of our State and nation at large to pay you acourtesy call and plead with you and your Kingdom to mobilise to register andvote for Rt. Hon. Chibuike Amaechi not because he is my brother and friend butbecause his revolutionary crusade in our State must continue. If he must bere-elected then all the good sons and daughters of Rivers Statemust not only support him in words but in deeds by registering to have thepower to re-elect him. If the revolutionary fire he has ignited in our Statewill be sustained this is critical or else those that made our State insecurein the past will capitalise on it to seize power and take us back to the uglypath from where we have previously tread and vowed to never walk again. That isthe principal reason why I cut short my stay travels to ensure that Iparticipate in this new revolution that will make the difference in our countryas one vote can ensure that the right people will be elected come April 2011.Though President Jonathan is doing his best in a very difficult situation, thefact remains that this voterâ's registration exercise is a key achievement ofhis administration in which Nigerians can utilise their votes to make adifference in the leadership of our country. To me the problem of this countryhas always been poor leadership. Once we get it right, Nigeriawill take its rightful place among the comity of nations”.

The Prince who used the opportunity to announce theincrease in the number of beneficiaries to the current Amanyanabo Of Kalabarischolarship scheme that will grant to over 150 students from the State pickedfrom all the 23 LGAs of the state also donated a bus to the youths of thePalace to be used to generate funds to cater for themselves and avoid idleness. He promised to donate more buses to cover and cater for most of our youths inall the Local Government Areas of the State.

“The people of Rivers Statehave done much for me and I think it is time to start paying back.” the Princeenthused

King Prof T.J.T. Princewill who wasso happy to receive the Prince and his entourage displayed his own voterâ's cardto his visitors and stated that the importance of the voterâ's registrationexercise cannot be over-emphasized.
He thanked the Prince for affordingtime to come home to register and assured him that he will not spend more thanfive minutes to get registered as hiccups earlier associated with the exercisehad been arrested and resolved. He thanked the Prince for sustaining theAmanyanabo of Kalabari Scholarship Scheme which is a legacy he intends to leavefor the incoming generation since without education, our society is doomed. TheKing concluded by stating that though he did not train his son to be apolitician, he taught him to care and since he has decided to be one, I willgive him my blessing and support. I am proud of the much he has achieved sincehe joined politics. Today, I can proudly state that I made Tonye not for me,but for others.

Rev. Dr. Ugo Amaechi, the Head of the Pastorâ's wing of PPA and Dr Mrs Edith Wele the Women Leader alldescribed King Princewill as not only a gift to the people of Rivers State butthe Ambassador of Peace in the Kalabari Kingdom which has resulted in theprevalent peace in his Kingdom, adding that the King was as an embodiment ofhumility and thanked God for using him as a passage to bring this great son oftheirs in the person of the Prince to this world.

Prince TonyePrincewill was later accompanied personally by the King and the mammoth crowdthat thronged to the palace on hearing that the Prince was in town to registerand obtain his voterâ's card within five minutes as rightly predicted by theKing, the exercise was concluded.

On his entourage wereChief Dr. Davies Ibiamu Ikanya, the Chairman of PPA and Hon. Commissioner of Special Dutiesin the Rivers State Government, Bar Osima Ginahthe Secretary and Commissioner for Urban Development, Rev Dr. Ugo Amaechi theCoordinator of the pastorâ's wing of PPA, Dr. Mrs. Edith Wele the Leader of theWomen Group, Chief Eze C Eze the Media Consultant among other leaders of theGroup.
