London ( onlinenigeria ) November 15, 2010 - The Director General of Goodluck/Sambo Presidential Campaign Organisation, Dr Dalhatu Tafida, has received kudos for his positive attitude in running one of the most respectable campaign activities in the history of Presidential election in Nigeria. While speaking with PR newsmen in London with regards to update on the Goodluck/Sambo campaign, Mr. Peter Eledan, Chairman Goodluck Jonathan Global Campaign team who is also the Vice-Chairman of Nigerians in Diaspora organisation (NIDOE) UK Chapter, stated that “the effort Dr Tafida has put into the campaign and the way he handles pressing issues facing the campaign has never gone unnoticed”. He further stressed that Dr Tafida managed the campaign Organisation properly based on his Leadership capabilities, acquired experience and wisdom in the Nigerian Polity over the years and most importantly his enthusiasm and love for the country ensuring continuity in Nigeria democratic process. He enlightened PDP Party members and other Presidential candidates to de-emphasize zoning and ethnicity but lay more emphasise on programmes that will benefit the people and ultimately turn the country around. When some party members within the party were craving for zoning which led to chaos; Dr Tafida put his life on the line by openly disagreeing with those calling for zoning in the party, saying “it was not only undemocratic, but would not exemplify the much sort after internal democracy in the ruling party. Zoning was no longer feasible in a democratic setting”. The Goodluck Jonathan Global Campaign Team and President Goodluck Jonathan supporters in Nigeria and across the globe agreed with Dr Tafida when he put up a case for a Goodluck Jonathan presidential ticket in 2011, saying, “if we should take things from their rightful order, I believe by former president Umaru Yar’Aduaâ's sadly and unfortunate death (May his soul rest in peace), the North completed its term since there was no guarantee that each zone must run for two terms,” he added that President Jonathan should be allowed to continue in office after 2011.Putting his humility and uprightness aside, the director-general of the Goodluck presidential campaign organisation handles his job with the highest sense of responsibility going by his track record over the years in Nigeria Public Service. This mirrored exactly what he did and is still doing within the UK Nigerian communities and the diplomatic circles where he robs mind shoulder to shoulder. His simplicity and willingness to listen and provide answers to complex issues affecting his people and country is also a testament of his integrity and forthrightness. Dr Tafida has built excellent relationships with the U.K. government during his two years in London. His passion and authentic aspiration to do good has built many bridges in the U.K and Nigeria – bridges that could be very useful for Goodluck Jonathan should he turn out as President after the April elections. Differing to the bad-mannered and unfair assault on his personality, I believe Nigerians should take a deep breath and appreciate his contribution for our great nation and especially his efforts to return President Goodluck Jonathan back to office in April 2011.The Director General is not taking the efforts and contributions of Nigerians in Diaspora for granted as he knows the significant role they are playing in terms of valuable insight for his Organisation to ensure President Goodluck Jonathan wins the crucial 2011 election.Closing RemarkPeter Eledan, Chairman, Goodluck Jonathan Global Campaign Team (GJGCT).
