'A controversial topic: Adam was black' (« Le pavé dans la Marre: Adama etait noir» is the title of an interesting book that tries to prove that the first man (Adam) was black. I found the book interesting to consider especially for those who speak some African languages such as Pulaar. In my opinion to understand some arguments of the book we must assume that the ancient Egypt was occupied by blacks people. I recall that the relationship between the Fulani language and the ancient Egypt language has already been proved by Cheikh Anta Diop. The author starts from the fact that Adama means in Pulaar (Fula, Fulani ...) ' others were here before you (the angels …).' The author goes further, since he argues implicitly that most of the words used by Arabic people come from the Pulaar (Fula, Fulani, Fulfulde…) This is logical in my mind since the mother of Ishmael (an ancestor of the Arabs) comes from the ancient Egypt. And he adds that Hannibal was poular. Hannibal = Haynibali which means 'the man who has floated the sheep' in the Fulani language. Maybe Hannibal first tried to float sheepâ's before to do the same thing to elephants:lol:. Finally, I like his explanation of the word pharaoh (the king of the ancient Egypt). He finds the explanation in the Fulani language were they call the king of the ancient Egypt Fer Awna, and Fer Awna means in Fulani 'who oblige the people to plant even if the seeding is rotten.' This is understandable in my opinion because of the Nil. Another thing this book is in French and I have not seen yet the English version of this book.
