Based on the reports regarding the amount awarded for the renovation of the speaker's residence and that of her deputy, I think due process should be taken in addressing the issue by bringing any corrupt official to book especially those holding pulic posts.Proper care should also be taken so that those who call themselves big powers in the PDP do not sweep this matter under the carpet thereby covering up this corrupt act at the expense of the masses.Nigerians are waiting & watching to see how this ''BIG''one will go.This sort of scams by highly placed individuals in government should not be swept under the carpet. Imagine the amount of money involved, imagine what the tax payer is going through in terms of delapidated or non existance of infrastructural facilities, imagine how a fraction of that sum of money would impinge positively on the tax payer. As a nation aspiring to develop and entrench democracy,we should be very mindful and wary of elements in our midst whose parochial interest is always 'forced' on our national interest. Whatever happens, this issue must not be allowed to go away, we must struggle ceaselessly to show our politicians that they are selected or elected to serve the people not their self aggrandisement. Once again we are waiting and expecting that this issue be pursued to a 'logical conclusion'.

Is the government of Nigeria a PDP affair? Why is it that they are taking it as a party affair?I guess what they are implying is that Nigeria should go to hell and besides they are there to make sure that PDP members can enrich themselves and be protected by the law of the land. Why can't be found good things that will put smile on the faces of Nigerians? especially the POOR,No wonder International community regards Nigeria as a country that swim, drink and eat corruption.Okay clap for yourself. At least Nigeria is known for one thing. It is easy to distinguish between good and dissapointing leaders.Good leaders stand out because of their adherence to participatory democratic principles and their clear-minded strength of character. Dissapointing leaders on their own, tear the socio-economic fabric of the society, opress their citizens depriving them of happines and prosperity while thriving at their expense and collective strenght. The speaker is dishonest, selfish, greedy, flamboyant, corrupt. It is very shamefull that the speaker`s 100 days in office has been mared by misuse of public office for selfish gains, fraudlent deals and kickbacks in tendering contract and procurements and a display of flamboyant lifestyle as evidenced in her birth bash in Maryland. We should consider the impressive benefits that will be made if this money is converted into micro-credit loan scheme for farmers. One can be forced to ask whether the renovation of the Speakers residence is the most pressing issuie facing Nigeria today,I do not need the result of the probe pannel to establish the fact that there was a scandal, but if Alhaji Bello Masari can publicly declear that a house he vacated 3months ago could gulf 50 million naira, then someone must be lying to Nigerians.I have written and expressed my worries at some decisions by the government of President Yaradua. There are people around Yaradua who are claiming that it is their 'time to eat'.They think that being in government is an opportunity to feed fat. This misunderstanding of governance in Africa is the bane of our society today. The elite who have found themselves in President Yaradua's government have ganged themselves together to suggest programs and policies that will weaken certain institutions, productive initiatives,I ask this question: At what cost to the nation are President Yaradua's decisions and policies so far? I have again seen that the President will find himself in some trouble that will require help from unlikely sources.  What is the government of Yaradua thinking or doing about interest rate? Physical infrastructure is so bad that I need not describe it again since it is international knowledge. Rail roads on which commodities like cement, steel products, etc.How can private investors be assured that the threat by government on local producers of cement will not be made on them in the future? How can their investments be secured? No nation develops by threatening her investors. I ask the question again: Who stands to gain from importation of bagged of cement? Love me or hate my guts, we may yet be at the door steps of the worst era of corruption in Nigeria.President Yaradua must never crave for cheap popularity among rogues. Neither must he seek to be compared with President Obasanjo and declared more of a democrat.

Long live the Federal Republic of Nigeria and Nigerians with courage.
