We should not decieve ourselves on the problem and solution of Niger-Delta.The government knows who they are.Who are they? They are the government and friends of the government. Those gun totting youths works for the government.Don't you think if the militants were on their own,the government could had dealt with them even before this stage. This is the question we must ask ourselves. However,if the government is very serious about bringing to an end of the Niger-Delta crisis, why don't they get the sources of those bombs and guns since those weapons didn't fall from heaven but it came from somewhere and they cost alot.(Asari has accused the ex-president point blank and what has the government done). If such is not done, then the government should forget the peaceful and boasting talk of calming down the problem.Sincerity is what we need.
The only way to stem the youth restiveness in the Niger-Delta is to form an authentic committee that compose of the federal, state government from the region, prominent leaders and the leader of the restive youth.By this, the federal would get to know their grievances and the restiveness that have enveloped the region. For God sake, restiveness will continue to be a cauldron in as much as there is no portable water, stable electricity, good housing, good road, employment, affordable and sound education, accountability and probity, good goverance, good medical care, restoring hope, letting everybody be part of the system, monthly conference among other things. It is high the government at all level took the decisive decision to revisit, revise, rejuvenate the wounds inflicted on the people of this region otherwise peace will be a mirage. Here I stand.
I frankly don't agree with that name hudlums, since most of these gunmen are members of respectable families. the issue is that the men who unleash these terror in Port Harcourt are sponsored because the type of guns they carry were bought by wealthy men, their ammunition seems not to be finishing. if these boys are sponsored, and their ammunition keeps coming, who then is a hudlum? the wealthy man who sponsors them for selfish interest or the Police who refused to curtail the inflow of ammunition into the state, or the state and federal govt who are busy petting the boys because they have done one job or the other for them and are scared of being exposed if they decend very hard on them.our bloody politicians!I strongly believed it's time to flush out all the evil politicians in our Great country Nigeria, they are responsible for all the atrocities being actuated in every nooks and corners of the nation.Let the military squad in PH fighting against the militias be used against this calous politicians, they are the main MILITANTS in sheep clothing.
