Comrade Ojeremen Stephen President Esan Youth Rebirth Movement (EYRM) has asked the Nigeria Human rights and People's Rights to re-assess its strengths and weakness,to enhance its operations of promoting and protecting human rights in Nigeria. At a forum organised by Hope for Niger Delta Campaign HNDC The Netherlands. 'Nigeria leaders must respect human rights through their policies and ensure that Nigerians are protected under the universal basic human rights.Although the submission of states' reports on human rights issues as it pertained had for some time now been encouraging, poverty, corruption, impunity still remained a threat to protection of human rights. liberated from fear and intimidation,to attain the dream of  Nigeria that we have all dreamt of,'   Often times whenever the nation is on transition from one government to another, politicians are in the habits of eliminating their opponents and critics through the nozzle of hired assassins in diguise as armed robbers.Cheif Bola Ige,formal minister of Justice was murdered in cold blood in his house little was done, last year Eng.Funsho Williams a gubernatorial aspirant Lagos state was assassinated in his bed room NO traces.Furthermore, another gubernitorial aspirant in Ekiti State Mr.Ayo Daramola was also murdered in cold blood in his house, even Human Rights campaigners, gatherings like group, town Union ,student Union are not left out in politically motivated killings in Nigeria politics just for the evil politicians to gain their various office of interests. This maturated killings has become a virus in our national life.We need peace and progress in Nigeria, but our leaders are busy lining their pockets with stolen wealth living the masis to suffer. The Esan Youth Rebirth Movement EYRM want all corrupt political leaders to be ease out of power the youths properly enligthen with democracy dividend, and we want all past and present political leaders to be brought to face the full weight of justice to enable our great country Nigeria move forward, until this is done Nigeria situation will remain the same as yesterday today and tomorrow.
Where do we go from here?If we are only for ourselves, what are our live for?Nigeria leaders should make Nigeria a better place for all,and the youths of our great country Nigeria must stand up to defend their rights by saying NO to our bigwings political God-fathers and their God-sons.The Nigerian youth have been relegated to the background for too long.At best, they have had to contend with the crumbs from the older generation of greedy leaders who have been in power since independence.Nigeria should emulate other countries that have given leadership responsibilities to their youths to show the stuff they are made of. Fortunately,Nigeria youths are rearing to go.Some of them, who have been given the opportunity to serve their fatherland, have distinguished themselves.
There is no reason for not bringing the youths into the mainstream of leadership. The future of Nigeria depends on the youth,so the incoming administration have to empower our young people and women to bring their dynamism and vibrancy into the nation building process because recycling the country over and over again will slow this generation down.
