BEYOND THIRD TERM: THE UNTOLD STORY… The US; the West; the press; the Senate and the Nigerian people, fought against third term, because they want regime change in 2007. The fight against third term was a fight for interest: America wants regime change so as to create an enabling and receptive situation for its economic interest and thrust into the Nigerian market; the West wants a change for the same reason as the US, a willing local partner to secure the raping of the Nigerian market; the press wants it based on altruism; the Nigerian Senate hide under the guise of Messiah to handover the keys of governance to the thieving old order; and the Nigerian people wanted it because they believe their vote will count in choosing a desired leader come 2007. But, ironically, by 2007, our susceptible optimism will be another lost dream. In the world today, nations are being run by a cabal of men – a hegemonic oligarchy with esoteric ways, - luckily for the Western people, their governing cabal is made up of individuals propelled by patriotic nationalism to advance their people. But in Nigeria and elsewhere in Africa, our governing cabal is made up of thieves, thieves, who hate their own people, seeing them only as economic variables to be exploited and milked dry. This is sad indeed but happens to be the reality of the Black man. The political and economic interest of the West, spearheaded by the United States, can be summarized as: globalization, free market enterprise, libertarian and anarcho-capitalism, suspect economic laissez faire and neo-slavery cum colonialism. Since the Western economies are mature and developed, the West wants to break all barriers to their trade. They want unlimited access to resources and markets. The Nigerian cabal wants to exploit the Nigerian people and so, is not averse to the intent of the West to destroy our economy and market. After all, they stand to gain if the economy is in shamble. The economic policies and reforms of the OBJ administration is not favouring the West neither is it favouring our thieving cabal. The ban on the importation of certain goods aimed at strengthening the local production of these goods is not a favourable policy to the West and to our cabal who would love to turn Nigeria into a dumping ground for both Oriental and Occidental goods. Though the strengthening of our local industries, and our export, will benefit the generality of Nigerians in the long run, our handful of thieving cabal sees it as a project inimical to their economic survival. The West shares the same view with them. We must note that American support for world-wide free trade is quite a recent phenomenon. It started only at the end of the Second World War. While American industries were developing, the country had no time for economic laissez faire. After it industries had grown strong, the United States began preaching laissez-faire to the rest of the world – and began to kid itself about its own history, believing its slogans about laissez-faire as the secret of its success. It must be noted at this juncture that, state interventionism is a prerequisite for economic growth and the development of any country’s local industry. The ban and high tariffs placed on foreign goods is OBJ’s way of effecting state interventionism and protectionism in the development of Nigeria’s nascent industries – this is for the benefit of future Nigerians. Though the press and the Nigerian people fought against third term for altruistic reasons, they inevitably, by their actions, supported the evil orchestrations of Mephistopheles and his Nigerian apostles who operated in the costume of democrats. In 2007, Nigerians will realize that they have unwittingly helped the slave-riders who once mortgaged the futures of yet unborn Nigerians via their spend-drift running of the economy, which brought about the collapse of the naira, the bastardization of our economy, the destruction of our health via the sundry importation of substandard and expired products, and the institutionalization of corruption. The resurrection of the sordid past in 2007 will be in the interest of the Nigerian cabal and to the West. Mercantilism, homesteading, the enclosure of common land, repression of labour unions, slave trade etc, were all protectionist acts, which the West employed in the development of capitalism and their industries during its tottering stage. Now that they are strong enough, they do not want us to protect our own industries, economy and market. For my microscopically insignificant role (via my articles and letters) in killing third term, I refuse to offer any apologies whatsoever. But for my Lilliputian contribution in killing the constitutional amendment, and for helping to position the thieving cabal for a takeover, I tender is solemn and unconditional apology: I am sorry. We can still remedy what we have done by making sure that a humanist and a truly patriotic Nigerian succeeds OBJ come 2007 via a free, fair and transparent election. Once again I say: I am sorry.
