The Politics of Higher Education.

 

The question that currently discriminates among graduates is:

“Does the end justify the means?”

 

It is said that persons who attain higher education qualification through access courses such as higher national diplomas are not given the full benefit as a graduate.

 

The politics of education now lies between classical and modern means.

Classical means of education is very class orientated and usually in favour of the wealthy in any given society.

 

The classical is also privileged in the employment market as he or she is already within the social circles of business men and women.

 

Modern society has eroded the barrier between classes however the discrimination is still there.

 

In Europe for instance free higher education has made it possible for the under classed to achieve however employment barriers and credit both financial and social is offensive to the already classed society.

 

Employers who may be liberal are also under pressure due to political influences when it comes to employing the under classed.

 

Grey companies are usually guilty of discrimination because of the long history associated with the classical method.

 

Modern and dynamic companies value your qualification and what you can offer in comparison to your classification.

 

They were built on moderation and therefore do recognise the changes in society

These companies usually cater for the masses and also recognise you as a customer.

 

Why do we have access courses if it will under value the end result?

I believe it is under valued for financial gains rather than productivity.

 

I could only think of a market trader who is biding down to get a good deal.

The psychological impact to the individual can be damaging after an up hill battle.

 

I have heard of imperial research measuring the productivity of classical graduates and access graduates.

 

This research should not have taken place although the results were in favour of access based graduates because it further confirms that there is a divide.

 

A person who falls and gets up to attain his or her goal is passionate.

This is how I will describe access based graduates.

 

However it has not been said to undermine the naturally gifted and well placed persons in society.

 

Business graduates and Psychology graduates must have had of the

“Hawthorn Experiment”

My concept of passion is based on its findings.

 

We as individuals in today’s society regardless of education have so many battles and discrimination is one of the battles.

 

I believe perseverance is key to success.

 

“Time is a healer”
