Federalism Explained
Federalism tends to be associated with extreme political affiliations such as Socialism and Fascism.
This misunderstanding explains the conduct of most federal states
Nationalism is not Federalism.
This is where the confusion lies
The argument preventing the total amalgamation of the European Union is Federalism.
In order words; one currency, one army and judiciary
Unlike the United States of America that comprises mainly of European migrants; Europe has a tradition to maintain and fear federalism might erode this tradition.
Oxford dictionary defined “federal” as a system in which states unite under a central authority but are independent in internal affairs.
The Federal Republic of Nigeria is a classic example of federalism by definition however debateable by conduct
